bouncy seat

Mary gave us her bouncy seat after her girls out grew it. There are two setting for making music. One setting has music on all the time, but Scott and I couldn't figure out how to trigger it on the other setting. Linden figured it out! It is so fun to watch him learn. See if you can guess how it works.

picnic

Rebecca and I started picking strawberries at Carandale Farms many years ago. First Scott joined us, and now Linden joined us too. We miss Rebecca for many reasons. One reason is that she always cooks fabulous desserts with fresh strawberries!

We went to the arboretum to see the linden trees in bloom.

We brought a picnic lunch from my new favorite sandwich shop, La Baguette.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!

Knitting

Erik, Maria, and Torey came over to knit this weekend. Despite the fact the Elena's sweater still needs arms, I didn't get much knitting done. We did enjoy the beautiful day!

Coca and Pixie had fun, too!

Milwaukee Zoo

Linden and I met the Lamont grandparents in Milwaukee last week at the zoo. We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon!

Babies like to be held close to one's heart--this trait goes way back in our evolutionary history. The baby is holding onto the mom's skin and hair. I'm glad we invented tools such as slings!

Here's Grandad sporting the sling:

Susie, Keith, and Lula's visit

For the third year, Keith again rode his bike up from just outside Chicago. He's quite amazing. Susie and Lula drove up to enjoy a lovely day in Madison.

Garden Update

We've eaten lettuce and radishes, and everything is planted. The peas are flowering.
